A 44-year-old Salvadoran national previously deported from the United States has pleaded guilty in federal court to unlawfully reentering the country, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials confirmed.

Arsenio Valladares entered a guilty plea on July 7 in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien.

Valladares was removed from the United States on April 23, 2008. At some point following his removal, he illegally reentered the country without obtaining permission from immigration authorities.

Prior to his initial deportation, Valladares had been convicted of several offenses, including:

  • Assault and battery with a deadly weapon
  • Assault and battery on a police officer
  • Assault and battery
  • Operating a vehicle under the influence
  • Larceny
  • Malicious destruction of property

In November 2024, ICE’s Boston Field Office was alerted to Valladares’ presence in the U.S. after his fingerprints were submitted in connection with new criminal charges in Massachusetts. He was arrested on immigration charges on March 18.

Valladares faces up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. He is also subject to deportation following the completion of any sentence. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for later this month.
