A high-speed pursuit involving a New York-plated BMW reached speeds of nearly 130 MPH late last night on Interstate 90 before ending in a violent crash at a Connecticut weigh station.
According to preliminary information, Massachusetts State Police pursued the BMW westbound on the Mass Pike after the vehicle allegedly refused to stop. Troopers reportedly deployed spike strips during a coordinated detail setup on I-90, but the vehicle continued fleeing at high speeds even after being spiked. The pursuit was later terminated once the BMW crossed into Connecticut on Interstate 84.
Moments later, the BMW exited into a Connecticut weigh station where the vehicle reportedly left the roadway on an off-ramp, traveled through the grass, and flipped on an incline grass mound. The BMW crashed with three occupants inside. One person was ejected and suffered serious injuries before being airlifted to a trauma center.
Authorities reportedly recovered narcotics, including suspected “94C’s,” along with multiple other items from inside the vehicle. One suspect was taken into custody south of the weigh station while a third suspect fled the scene, prompting a manhunt involving Connecticut State Police, K9 units, and Massachusetts State Police, who were requested to assist in the search.
It remains unclear if the third suspect was located. The investigation remains ongoing.
