
NewsTalk New England is a nonprofit news organization dedicated to delivering comprehensive and unbiased reporting that enhances informed civic engagement. It is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors, which holds primary governance and fiduciary responsibilities to ensure the organization remains aligned with its mission and effectively serves its community.
The board is currently seeking passionate, skilled individuals to join our ranks, welcoming members from various professional backgrounds and experiences. We place a high value on harnessing new talent, promoting equitable practices, and embracing diverse perspectives to enrich our organizational dialogue and decision-making processes.
According to the NewsTalk New England by-laws, our board may consist of up to 25 directors. Each board member is eligible to serve for up to 5 consecutive two-year terms, allowing for a maximum of 10 consecutive years on the board. This structure ensures continuity and the opportunity to build on the strategic knowledge accumulated over time.
The primary purpose of the NewsTalk New England Board of Directors is to assist the organization in achieving its mission and vision. We are seeking board members who are not only knowledgeable in their respective fields but also enthusiastic partners as we embark on an ambitious new vision plan. In this capacity, the board will provide essential support through governance best practices, strategic planning initiatives, effective fundraising efforts, and community outreach activities. Please note that this is a volunteer position.
