WORCESTER, MA — A serious crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Mower Street left two people injured and sparked a fire Tuesday.
According to preliminary information, the motorcycle, carrying two occupants, collided with an SUV before coming to rest in the front yard of a nearby home. Moments after the impact, the motorcycle caught fire, sending flames through the yard.
Bystanders and first responders rushed to assist as Worcester Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze. Paxton EMS assisted on scene alongside Worcester EMS.
Both riders were treated on scene and transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The severity of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.
The operator of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities.
Worcester Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
