Three juveniles were arrested early Saturday morning after Worcester Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Hudson Street and discovered a firearm inside a vehicle.
At approximately 4:00 a.m. on July 26, officers were dispatched to the area following a ShotSpotter alert. Upon arrival, they located a vehicle near the activation site and approached it out of concern that a victim might be inside.
Inside the vehicle were three juveniles. Police said a rear passenger gave officers a false name and was asked to step out of the vehicle. Officers then noticed a cross-body bag inside the vehicle. A search of the bag revealed a firearm.
Because none of the juveniles claimed ownership of the weapon, all three were placed under arrest.
The Worcester Police Crime Scene Unit processed the firearm. The juveniles are charged with:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
- Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card
- Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
