Happening overnight in the Roxbury section of Boston, firefighters with Boston Fire Department responded to a structural fire around 4:00 a.m. on Woodbine Street.

Boston Fire Department confirmed that the fire started in the rear of the structure which is a two family duplex. 

There was a report that people were trapped inside and a second alarm was ordered. Two people were rescued from inside as well as a dog. 

About 36 minutes in, and after battling heavy fire from the basement that traveled thru the roof, Boston firefighters had the fire knocked down around 4:34 a.m., and began overhauling throughout the 2 units.

Boston Fire Department Deputy Chief Brian Tully in a press gaggle confirmed that one Firefighter and one resident were transported with minor injuries to an area hospital.. 

The Red Cross is expected to give assistance to five displaced residents.
