Celtics v Rockets

Saturday night at TD Garden, the Boston Celtics claimed a 145-113 win over the Houston Rockets to extend their franchise record for most consecutive home wins to start a season with 19 wins. The Celtics are one of only 15 teams in NBA history to record 19 straight wins at home to start a season.

Saturday nights win for the Cs is their fifth win by at least 30 points this season.

Jaylen Brown led the team with 32 points, one offensive rebound, five defensive rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. Brown joins Derrick White, Jayson Tatum, and Kyrie Irving as the only four Celtics players to record at least 30 points, two blocks, and two steals in a game since 2015.

Jayson Tatum finished the night with 27 points while shooting 52.9 percent from the field and connecting on 4-of-7 three-point attempts. Tatum finished the night with one offensive rebound, seven defensive rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block.

Derrick White added 13 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals, while Jrue Holiday added 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the victory.

College Hoops

At the Costello Athletic Center in Lowell, Massachusetts, UMass Lowell grabbed an 86-82 win against UMBC. River Hawks Senior Max Brooks finished the night with a season-high 24 points and 13 rebounds. 

At the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, the Xavier Musketeers beat the Friars 85-65. Josh Oduro led the way for the Friars with 20 points while Devin Carter added 18 points and a game-high seven rebounds. 

At the Thomas M. Ryan Center in Kingston, Rhode Island, the Rams defeated UMass 89-77. Jaden House had a game-high 29 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 5-of-7 from the arc. 

In Burlington, Vermont at the Roy L. Patrick Gymnasium, UVM recorded its nation-best 18th-straight conference defeating NJIT 76-55. Jace Roquemore finished recorded a season-high 14 points in the victory. Roquemore registered a game-high six rebounds and added four assists. 

At the Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina, Boston College Eagles fell 89-78 to Clemson.  

In Baltimore at the Reitz Arena, the Boston University Terriers, who were down by as many as 18 points in the second half, beat Loyola-MD 60-58. Anthony Morales finished with a career-best 24-point performance while Nico Nobili finished with eleven points.

At Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the Holy Cross Crusaders bounced back after two straight losses to beat Lehigh 69-66 in overtime. 

On The Ice:

The Bruins, who lost their last three, Saturday bounced back to grab a 4-3 win in overtime against the Blues. 

Hartford Wolf Pack hosted Providence Bruins at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. The Wolf Pack grabbed a 3-2 win in overtime. Jayson Megna and Alec Regula both scored for Providence, while Karl Henriksson, Mac Hollowell, and Brandon Scanlin each had a goal for Hartford. Scanlin recorded the game-winning goal just 1:44 into the overtime period. It was his first career overtime goal. 

In Worcester, Massachusetts, the Railers hosted the Norfolk Admirals in game one of a three-game game weekend series at the DCU Center. The Railers won game one, 4-3 Friday night, and grabbed a 4-2 win Saturday night with Jake Pivonka, Anthony Repaci, Connor Welsh, and Anthony Callin each making a goal. Worcester’s first three goals came in the third period. Danny Katic and Keegan Iverson both scored for the Admirals in the first period.
