Holy Cross Fall To Maryland In Women’s Tournament

The Holy Cross Crusaders faced the Maryland Terrapins in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tournament.

The Crusaders earned a 15th seed after winning the Patriot League Championship versus Boston University.

The Terrapins were granted a two despite losing the Big 10 championship to the university of Iowa

Unfortunately for Holy Cross the game wasn’t close from the start as the Crusaders would be down 23-4 after the first quarter.

Maryland would also outscore Holy Cross in the second quarter 29-17 and would be leading at half 52-21.

Holy Cross would match Maryland’s scoring the rest of the game but the lead was already to big with the Terrapins going on to win 93-61

The Crusaders top scorers were Simone Foreman who scored 13 points and Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly who scored 10 points.

The Terrapins leading scorers were Brinae Alexander with 18 points and Abby Myers who scored 16 points.

Holy Cross would see the season end in this matchup while Maryland advances to the round of 32 and will face seventh seed Arizona.
