Maine Celtics Fall To Wisconsin Herd In Overtime

The Maine Celtics are coming off two straight wins one versus the Long Island Nets ending their 16 game win streak and against the Wisconsin Herd who they faced again on Friday Night.

With four games the Maine Celtics currently sit at third in the Eastern Conference sitting only one and a half games from falling to seventh and out of the playoffs.

Wisconsin who is sitting at 12th in the Eastern Conference and eliminated from the playoffs had the chance to play spoiler for the Celtics.

Wisconsin came out swinging as they would outscore Maine 35-22 and have a 13 point lead by the end of the first quarter.

Maine would bounce back with an amazing quarter of their own winning the second quarter 35-16. The Celtics would be up 57-51 at halftime with a six point lead.

The Celtics would win the third quarter 27-26 and extend their lead by seven going into the fourth.

Wisconsin would come back in the fourth and force overtime where they would outscore Maine in overtime by just two points getting their revenge for the previous loss and go on to win 118-116.

Wisconsin was led by Lindell Wigginton who scored 35 points along with MarJon Beauchamp who contributed 21 points. The Herd improved to 10-19 and will return to action on Sunday versus the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Maine would see 22 points from Mfiondu Kabengele and 21 points from Scottie Lindsey. The Celtics will also return to action on Sunday to play the Windy City Bulls.
