Teejay Johnson, 37, of New Haven, Connecticut has been indicted by a federal grand jury. Johnson is charged with unlawful firearm possession and fentanyl distribution offenses.

On March 9, 2022, while executing a search warrant  at Johnson’s residence, the New Haven Police Department Shooting Task Force and other law enforcement officers collected samples of suspected narcotics from a bathroom Johnson was found coming out of and allegedly had flushed narcotics down the toilet.

In other areas of the residence, law enforcement recovered fentanyl and other narcotics, marijuana, more than $8,600 in cash, and a loaded .40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine and 16 rounds of ammunition.

On Monday, Johnson, who has a past criminal history of firearm and assault related offenses,  appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert A. Richardson in Hartford and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
