Massachusetts State Police is investigating a sexual assault and assault and battery that occurred at approximately 8 a.m. today near South Border Road in Winchester in the Middlesex Fells Reservation.
The victim has been identified as a 48-year-old female. She was taken to a Boston area hospital to be treated and is in stable condition.
This is an active investigation and this is believed to have been a random attack.
