The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 108-100 in Game 3 of their first round series to take a 2-1 lead. Once again, it was the combo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown powering the Celtics to victory.
Jayson Tatum scored 25 points, knocking down five threes, along with dishing out seven assists. He hit a three point dagger to put the Celtics up 106-100 late, effectively putting the game out of reach. Jaylen Brown added 25 of his own on 9-16 shooting.
The Celtics had strong bench production with Nikola Vucevic recording 11 points and Payton Pritchard with 15.
As a team, the Celtics knocked down 20 three point shots and outrebounded the Sixers by eight.
As for the Sixers, every starter had double digit points on the night. Tyrese Maxey led the team in scoring with 31 points.
After being on fire in Game 2, V.J. Edgecombe struggled from the field, going 5-17 and 0-7 from three.
Paul George added 18 points. The Sixers went 12-35 from three.
The Sixers will look to rebound in Game 4 as they will still have the homecourt advantage. A Celtics win would result in them going back to Boston and possibly closing out the series.
