A police pursuit that began in Douglas Center ended in a serious crash after the vehicle traveled through multiple towns before slamming into trees in Uxbridge.

The chase started in Douglas Center after a failure to stop for speeding. The chase continued onto Hartford Avenue West, crossing into Uxbridge before turning onto Williams Street and Sutton Street. The pursuit ultimately ended on Sylvan Road, where the vehicle crashed into two trees at an estimated speed of 50 mph.

Emergency crews arrived to find two occupants trapped inside the vehicle—a male driver and a female passenger. Both required extrications.

The female passenger sustained more serious injuries due to her side of the vehicle being point of impact. She was transported by LifeFlight to UMass Memorial Medical Center after a helicopter landed at the Uxbridge Youth Soccer Fields. The male driver was transported by ambulance to UMass.

The extent of their injuries remains unknown at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
