ENFIELD, CT — On February 18, officers with the Enfield Police Department conducted a traffic stop near Hazard Avenue and Phoenix Avenue for an alleged seatbelt violation.
During the stop, officers reported observing drug-related paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle.
Police charged Angelo Abair, 42, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, with possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia, operation of a drug factory, sale of a narcotic substance, interfering with an officer, and tampering with physical evidence. He was held on a $200,000 cash or surety bond.
Nicholas Kozacka, 38, of Enfield, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia, and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was released after posting a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
Both individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
