A 13-year-old boy was shot in the head outside a Queens Dunkin’ Donuts Monday morning — just steps from three schools and a street named for another teen gunned down years ago, cops said.
The boy was struck around 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the shop on Linden Boulevard in Cambria Heights, police said. He was rushed to the hospital and is fighting for his life.
Cops found a backpack at the scene they believe belongs to the shooter. No suspects have been named and it’s unclear if the boy was headed to class at the time.
“There is nothing more devastating than yet another child becoming a victim of senseless gun violence,” Mayor Eric Adams wrote on social media. “Our hearts ache with the family and friends of this 13-year-old who is fighting for his life because of this epidemic.”
The bloodshed unfolded on a stretch of Linden Boulevard named after 13-year-old Kevin Lamont Miller Jr., who was killed on his way to school in 2009. A photo of Miller in his graduation cap and gown still hangs on a nearby street pole in his memory.
