CAMBRIDGE, MA — A large police response descended on Memorial Drive near River Street in Cambridge Monday afternoon following reports of a shooting.
According to preliminary information, Cambridge Police received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area around 1:30 p.m. Multiple police agencies, including Massachusetts State Police, responded to the scene as officers shut down portions of Memorial Drive and surrounding streets.
Authorities stated there is currently no ongoing danger to the public, though the investigation remains active. Further details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting have not yet been released
