The Cowboys return home this week, but history says don’t bank on that being a good thing. Dallas was a miserable 2-7 at AT&T Stadium last season, one of the worst home records in football, and it already threatens to hang over this year like a storm cloud. For all the talk of their dominance over the Giants in Dallas, this version of the Cowboys hasn’t exactly been holding serve in front of their own fans.
That opens the door for the Giants, who roll in with a defense built to make Dak Prescott’s life hell. Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Dexter Lawrence give New York one of the nastiest front lines in the league. Last season, the Giants led the NFL in pressure rate when they sent the house, and Prescott was the league’s worst quarterback against the heavy rush in 2024. That’s a bad combo for Dallas, whose offensive line has already shown cracks.
On offense, the Giants looked ugly in Week 1, putting up just six points, but this unit has upside. Russell Wilson, now at quarterback, has a deep-threat weapon in rookie Malik Nabers, who can stretch the field in ways Daniel Jones never could. Add in the Giants’ athletic tight ends, who have the speed to attack Dallas over the middle, and you can see a blueprint for success — if the offensive line gives Wilson just enough time to breathe.
The matchup in the trenches will decide this one. Dallas was gashed on the ground in 2024, giving up the fourth-most rushing yards per game, and Week 1 was even worse, allowing opponents to succeed on nearly three-quarters of their runs. That’s an invitation for the Giants to pound away early with the ground game, set up Wilson on play action, and test Dallas down the seams.
The one saving grace for the Cowboys? They’ve been a fast-starting team at home, hitting the first-half over in eight of their last 10 in Arlington. If Prescott finds rhythm early with CeeDee Lamb, Dallas could jump ahead and force Wilson into a catch-up game — not exactly his specialty anymore.
Still, with the way these teams are trending, the Giants have the defensive muscle to control tempo and the offensive upgrades to steal one. Unless Dallas flips its home-field curse, Big Blue looks primed to spoil the party in Jerry World.
Prediction: Giants 23, Cowboys 20. The pass rush rattles Prescott, Wilson makes just enough plays, and the Giants send Dallas to another home loss.
