Gunfire in a hotel parking lot near Philadelphia International Airport. A robbery that erupted into a shootout on a city street. Another man critically wounded just minutes later in a separate shooting. And in New York City, a subway rider stabbed in the stomach during an argument aboard a train.

For investigators, it was another violent weekend stretching across two major cities and leaving multiple victims hospitalized in critical condition.

Near Philadelphia International Airport, police were called to a shooting outside the Hampton Inn on Bartram Avenue overnight.

Investigators quickly taped off the parking lot and began combing through the scene, examining multiple shell casings scattered outside the hotel.

Police said one person was hospitalized and another person was taken into custody.

Authorities said there are no additional suspects being sought and investigators do not believe there is any danger to the public.

The shooting happened while other guests were staying at the hotel. Despite the violence unfolding outside, police said no other injuries were reported.

Officials have not released additional details regarding what led to the gunfire.

Elsewhere in Philadelphia, detectives were investigating two separate shootings that unfolded just three minutes apart Friday night.

The first shooting was reported at 9:49 p.m. on the 1000 block of West Lycoming Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old man next to a black Mercedes suffering from gunshot wounds to his left elbow and the left side of his abdomen.

Police said the victim was transported to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

According to investigators, the victim was approached in a park by a suspect who announced a robbery while displaying a firearm.

Officials said the victim, who is licensed to carry a firearm, also pulled out a firearm.

What followed was a gun battle.

Police said the encounter led to a shootout between the victim and the suspect.

Investigators have not determined whether the suspect was struck by gunfire.

A handgun was recovered at the scene.

As of Saturday afternoon, no arrests had been made and the investigation remained active.

Then came another emergency call.

At 9:52 p.m., Philadelphia Police and Philadelphia Housing Authority Police responded to reports of a shooting on Bailey Terrace Street.

Arriving officers found a 26-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm.

The victim was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where officials said he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Investigators recovered multiple firearms-related items at the scene, including six 556 rifle FCCs, six 9MM FCCs, two 40 caliber FCCs, two 357 caliber FCCs, and a firearm.

No arrests have been announced in that case.

Philadelphia police are urging anyone with information regarding either shooting to contact the Shooting Investigation Group.

Meanwhile, nearly 100 miles away in Brooklyn, police were searching for a suspect following a violent stabbing aboard a subway train.

According to authorities, the attack happened around 12:40 a.m. Friday aboard a southbound Q train at the Parkside Avenue station.

Police said an argument broke out between an unidentified man and a 39-year-old man while they were on the train.

Investigators allege the suspect stabbed the victim in the stomach before fleeing on foot.

Authorities said it remains unknown whether the two men knew each other.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was listed in critical condition.

As detectives search for the suspect, the stabbing adds another violent case to a weekend already marked by shootings, critical injuries and active investigations stretching from Philadelphia to New York City.

Police in both cities continue searching for answers as victims recover and investigators work to identify suspects, establish motives and determine exactly how each act of violence unfolded.
