ROYALTON, Vt. — A Massachusetts man is facing a DUI refusal charge following a traffic stop early Saturday morning in Windsor County, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the Royalton Barracks stopped a vehicle on southbound I-89 near Exit 3 around 1:10 a.m. on July 19 for multiple observed motor vehicle violations. During the stop, the driver, identified as Derrick J. Leblanc, 43, of Abington, Massachusetts, displayed signs of impairment, police said.

Leblanc was arrested and transported to the Royalton Barracks for processing. He later refused to submit to DUI testing and was released with a criminal citation.

He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, on Aug. 5 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of DUI – Refusal.
