Rye, NH — The New Hampshire State Police is investigating after a person was found deceased in the Atlantic Ocean near the Isles of Shoals on Sunday morning.
Around 9:15 a.m. on July 13, a person aboard a fishing vessel reported seeing a body floating in the water. The sighting was relayed to the U.S. Coast Guard, which then notified the New Hampshire State Police – Marine Patrol. Marine Patrol officers responded and recovered the body.
Authorities are working to identify the individual and determine the cause and manner of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
Police said there are no known threats to the public in connection with the incident.
