Vermont State Police on Wednesday identified a 27-year-old man from Dorchester, Massachusetts, as a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred in St. Johnsbury on May 6, 2025. The suspect, Ladjuan Anthony Guichard, is wanted on a charge of attempted second-degree murder in connection with the shooting of 30-year-old Adam Belliveau.
On May 6, at 2:20 p.m., Vermont State Police and the St. Johnsbury Police Department responded to an emergency call reporting that a man had been shot at a residence located on Concord Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found Adam Belliveau who had been shot. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where to be treated.
According to Vermont State Police, the shooting was not random; it allegedly involved individuals who were familiar with each other.
Guichard is currently facing an arrest warrant and, and is subject to nationwide extradition. In addition to the attempted murder charge, he is also wanted in Massachusetts for a probation violation.
Guichard is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 225 pounds, with dark brown or black hair and a beard. Authorities have emphasized that Guichard should be considered dangerous and possibly armed.
Guichard’s last known whereabouts as of May 9 were in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Law enforcement agencies are urging anyone who may have information about his location to refrain from approaching him. Instead, they are advised to call 911, contact their local police department, or reach out to the Vermont State Police barracks located in St. Johnsbury at 802-748-3111. As for Adam Belliveau, Vermont State Police have confirmed that he is on the mend and receiving the necessary care to recover from his injuries.
