Boston and Springfield Police Officers this past week treated kids from their communities to what has grown to become an annual community event called “Shop with a Cop.”
The Springfield Police Department and Hampden County Sheriff’s Department went Christmas shopping with approximately 30 Springfield elementary school students, chosen by their teachers at Walmart located at 1105 Boston Road on Tuesday.
In Boston, Police Officers were joined by Police Commissioner Michael Cox, Members of the Command Staff, and volunteers, and took nearly 300 children ages 5-12 from across Boston shopping for gifts from their holiday wish lists.
Boston Police Department said, “This special event is all about creating joy and meaningful connections for families who need extra support during the holiday season. Watching the smiles and excitement of these kids is a reminder of what the holidays—and community—are all about.”
