Red Sox v. Nationals
The Red Sox triumphed over the Nationals 4-2 at Fenway Park, putting an end to their three-game losing streak.
Wilyer Abreu opened up the game for the Sox in the bottom of the third inning, hitting his third home run of the season with a 95.3 mph sinker.
The team secured their second run in the bottom of the fifth, with Jarren Duran hitting a 92.8 mph four-seam fastball to make his ninth double of the season, allowing David Hamilton to score.
In the bottom of the eighth, Rafael Devers connected with a 96 mph four-seam fastball, hitting his eighth double of the season and helping to drive in Romy Gonzalez and Tyler O’Neill. It was the tenth time in Devers’ career with a go-ahead RBI in the eighth inning or later.
Worcester Red Sox v. Buffalo Bisons
At Sahlen Field in Buffalo, the Worcester Red Sox ended their two-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over the Bisons.
The WooSox’s triumph is their 13th day game win this season, and they are now 3-8 against the Bisons this season.
Niko Kavadas opened up the game for the WooSox in the top of the fifth inning, hitting his ninth home run of the season. Mark Contreras also hit a homer in the bottom of the fifth, his first homer of the season, and helped to drive in Dalton Guthrie, allowing Worcester to get out front 3-0 before Cam Eden scored for the Bisons, making it a 3-1 game at the end of the fifth.
The WooSox’s fourth run came in the top of the fifth with Corey Rosier.
Yard Goats v. Fightin Phils
After breaking their six-game losing streak with a 5-2 win against the Reading Fightin Phils in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, PA, the Hartford Yard Goats found themselves back on the losing side of things with a 3-5 loss in game two.
In game one, Andrew Quezada made his sixth start of the season, going five innings and throwing 81 pitches, 48 of which were strikes. Quezada allowed four hits, one run, walked four, and struck out three.
Braxton Fulford opened it up for the Yard Goats in the top of the fourth inning, hitting his second homer of the season and driving in Yanquiel Fernandez to make it a 2-0 game.
The Yard Goats grabbed their third run with Ryan Ritter scoring in the top of the fifth, making it a 3-0 game.
The Yard Goats’ fourth and fifth runs came in the top of the sixth inning, with Braxton Fulford and Kyle Datres both scoring.
In game two, the Yard Goats scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning, with Zac Veen, Sterlin Thompson, and Yanquiel Fernandez all contributing.
Mason Albright made his sixth start for Hartford, going five innings and throwing 84 pitches, 58 of which were strikes. Albright allowed seven hits, four runs, walked one, and struck out five.
Sea Dogs v. Rumble Ponies
At Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine, the Sea Dogs played as the Maine Clambakes, but unfortunately, they picked up their fifth straight loss, losing 10-7 to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, who improved to 18-12 with their win on Saturday.
Fisher Cats v. Harrisburg Senators
In Manchester, New Hampshire, the Fisher Cats grabbed a 6-1 win against the Harrisburg Senators in the fifth game of their six-game homestand.
Trenton Wallace started for the Fisher Cats, going six innings and throwing 93 pitches, 60 of which were strikes. Wallace allowed three hits, one run, walked two, and struck out four.
The Fisher Cats scored their first two runs in the bottom of the second inning, with both Devonte Brown and Zach Britton scoring.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Fisher Cats added four runs, with Alex De Jesus, Devonte Brown, Rainer Nunez, and Riley Tirotta all contributing.
The Senators’ solo run was Israel Pineda, who hit his first homer of the season at the top of the first.
Celtics v. Cavaliers
The Celtics were on the road at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland for game three of the East Semifinals on Saturday night and grabbed a 106-93 win against the Cavaliers with Jayson Tatum leading the way for the C’s, scoring 33 points in the 42 minutes he played. Tatum finished with one offensive rebound, 12 defensive rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block.
Jaylen Brown added 28 points to the board for the C’s in the 41 minutes he played. Brown finished the night with two offensive rebounds, seven defensive rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Jrue Holiday and Derrick White combined added 30 points to the board. Holiday finished the night recording two offensive rebounds, six defensive rebounds, five assists, and one block, while White finished recording three defensive rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block.
New England Revolution v. NY Red Bulls
The Celtics’ biggest lead of the night was 23 points. They made 41 field goals out of 80 attempts, and they made 13 3-point field goals out of 34 attempts.
At Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, the New England Revolution lost 4-2 to the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night. In the 24th minute, Carles Gil made a header from very close range to the top right corner, assisted by Tomás Chancalay with a cross. New England’s second goal of the match came in the 90th minute, with Giacomo Vrioni making a left-footed shot from the center of the box to the top right corner, assisted by Emmanuel Boateng.
