Eddy Javier Guerrero, a 32-year-old man from Boston, has been sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Allison D. Burroughs to five years in prison and four years of supervised release. Guerrero pleaded guilty in January 2023 to one count of attempting to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine.

The case involved a drug-trafficking organization in Mexico that sent 23.9 kilograms of cocaine to a confidential source in El Paso, Texas, who was then instructed to transport the drugs to Massachusetts. However, law enforcement officials intercepted the shipment and replaced the cocaine with fake drugs before delivering them to Guerrero.

On July 1, 2022, Guerrero arrived in Boston to receive the cocaine delivery, and he paid $15,100 in exchange for the drugs before being immediately taken into custody.
