A serious motor vehicle crash involving a wrong-way driver is under investigation on Route 146 in Millbury after a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes collided with another motor vehicle near Exit 17 shortly before 1 a.m.
The operator of the wrong-way vehicle was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.
The operator of the second vehicle was trapped inside the wreckage and had to be extricated by emergency crews before being transported to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of that person’s injuries is not known at this time.
The crash occurred on Route 146 North in the area of Exit 17 in Millbury. Multiple police, fire, and EMS agencies responded to the scene.
At this time, no additional information has been released regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash, the identities of those involved, or the conditions of the drivers.
