Coming off of a beatdown of the Golden State Warriors, the Celtics looked to continue their 11 game winning streak against the Cleveland Cavaliers. A team with a decent record and holding third place in the Eastern Conference, Cleveland showed grit and determination when battling the Celtics even though at one time they were down by 22 points.
Unfortunately for the Celtics this lead quickly dwindled due to 20 points scored by Dean Wade in the 4th quarter, to bring Cleveland back to secure the victory. A last second foul on Jason Tatum was challenged and overturned, sending the Cleveland faithful into hysterics, maintaining a one-point lead with .7 seconds left on the clock.
A double double from Jason Tatum, with 26 points and 13 rebounds, could not overcome the hustle of the Cleveland Cavaliers. who almost doubled the Celtics in stolen balls. Solid input from Jalen Brown, with 21 points, and Kristaps Porzingis, with 24 points, unfortunately we’re not enough to bring the Celtics to victory.
Cleveland outscoring the Celtics in the fourth quarter 34 to 17, resulted in a pne point win that broke the Celtics winning streak and will send them to face the reigning NBA championship Denver Nuggets, in what could result in a rare two losses in a row for the Celtics this season.
