New Hampshire and Vermont faced off in a battle of two New England teams in men’s basketball on Tuesday night. New Hampshire was looking to snap a three-game skid while Vermont was on a six-game win streak coming in.
It was a back-and-forth game for a majority of the first half. Eventually, Vermont took an ten point lead at 23-13 at the 3:38 mark of the first half after Aaron Deloney made two free throws. New Hampshire went on a 11-2 run to end the half, and Vermont’s lead was just one at 25-24 at halftime.
After a back-and-forth second in which New Hampshire took a lead in the first two minutes before Vermont took a five-point lead later on, Vermont held on for a four-point victory.
Sam Alamutu led Vermont with 23 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the floor. It was New Hampshire’s Ahmad Robinson who led the game with 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting.
