The Worcester Red Sox hosted the Syracuse Mets at Polar Park in Worcester, MA on Wednesday night. The WooSox won the first game of the series 10-2 on Tuesday night.
Syracuse got off to the fast and hot start in this game as a bases-loaded walk allowed Carlos Cortes to score, giving the Mets 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Shortly after, Danny Mendick doubled allowing three more runs to score to make it a 4-0 game in favor of the Mets.
In the top of the fourth, a single from Daniel Palka scored two more, and Syracuse had a 6-0 lead. Worcester would get one back in the bottom half of the inning as Nick Sogard scored on a Enmanuel Valdez single.
A Mendick single in the top of the ninth allowed Jaylen Palmer to score, bringing the score to 7-1. Worcester weren’t able to come back, and 7-1 proved to be the final score.
The WooSox and Mets will meet for the third game of the series tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET.
