NEWMAC Athletes of The Week – 9/10/23

The New England’s Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) selected Bristol, CT native and WPI wide receiver Bryce Curtin as the Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week for the week ending on September 10th. Curtin blocked a 23-yard field goal in the final seconds of the Engineers 24-21 victory over host Bridgewater State Friday.

San Diego, CA native Broock Desta from Coast Guard was named the NEWMAC Offensive Athlete of the Week. Desta led Coast Guard in receiving with 237 yards and two touchdowns. Coast Guard showed no mercy in their 93-24 win against Ana Maria at Cadet Memorial Field in New London, CT.

Belmont, MA native Avery Arno of Salve Regina was selected as Defensive Athlete of the Week. The Seahawks senior snagged two interceptions in the first quarter in Salve Regina 29-0 win against Framingham State.
