Wednesday afternoon at about 1:10 PM, Massachusetts State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) with the assistance from the Mass State Police Dive Team and Boston Fire Department Dive Team recovered a body from the Neponset River in Boston.
Massachusetts State Police say the body was located in the area of the Dana Avenue Bridge and confirmed it was a 60-year-old male from a nearby homeless encampment.
Massachusetts State Police say they began searching for the man on Monday “After two other men who lived with him in the encampment located the missing man’s walker and other personal items along the shoreline of the river near B Street in Hyde Park.”
The facts and circumstances of the man’s death is ongoing and is being conducted by the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County with assistance from the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the State Police-Milton Barracks.
