Celtics Bounce Back Against Timberwolves

The Boston Celtics played game three of their six game road trip playing the Minnesota Timberwolves. Boston lost their last game in Houston versus the Houston Rockets 111-109 after Jayson Tatum missed a game tying layup.

The Celtics are now 1-1 during their road trip beating the Atlanta Hawks in their first game

After one quarter the game was tied at 23 with Tatum scoring eight points in the first, while Anthony Edwards scored ten points for the Timberwolves.

Boston would hold a one point lead going into halftime up 44-43 with three players scoring over ten points being Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Malcolm Brogdon.

Boston would extend their lead in the third quarter from one point to six. The Celtics would outscore the Timberwolves 33-28 in that quarter.

Boston wouldn’t have the game completely sealed as Minnesota would get within two points with a minute left. Anthony Edwards would miss a step back three point jumper before fouling Tatum and getting a technical that led to an ejection. 

With Anthony Edaward’s technical foul and ejection Jayson Tatum would hit his two free throws and one technical foul shot to extend the lead to five with two seconds left.

Boston would defeat Minnesota 104-102 and improve to a record of 48-22 which is second in the East which is where they were at the beginning of the evening.The Celtics will continue their road trip on Friday when they play the Portland Trail Blazers. 

The Timberwolves now have a record of 35-35 after the loss which now places them at seventh in the west. Minnesota also returns to action Friday against the Chicago Bulls.
