For those thinking that Marcus Smart could be leaving Boston, well guess again because the Celtics guard isn’t going anywhere.
Since being drafted by the Celtics in 2014, Smart, the longest tenured player for the C’s has remained committed to this team and just how committed is this team to Smart? Well how about $77 million committed.
Smarts current contract is $14 million and is set to expire in the 2022-2023 season. Smarts contract extension is a four year agreement, keeping him with the C’s through the 2025-2026 season.
Since his becoming a Celtic, Smart has appeared in 449 games, averaging 10.2 points per game. In his NBA career, Smart has amassed a .376 field goal percentage along with a .320 three-point percentage.
