As of Monday, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 2,996 new confirmed COVID cases and six additional deaths in the Commonwealth.
Health officials also said there were 117,351 total new tests reported, 402 people currently are hospitalized for a coronavirus-related illness with 82 patients currently in intensive care.
With the new data Monday also came some guidelines from the CDC.
The CDC wants anyone in counties with high or substantial risk to wear masks indoors, regardless of their vaccination status. That means the CDC currently recommends everyone in Massachusetts wear a mask indoors.
Governor Charlie Baker however said on Monday, he is not going to change the mask guidance in Massachusetts right now. He says because the Commonwealth is in a “dramatically different place than many other states across this country.”
