Boston Police Arrest Dorchester Home Invasion Suspect With Loaded Handgun

Early Saturday morning Boston Police responded to the area of 39 Baird Street in Dorchester for a report of a home invasion.

Upon arrival the suspect was GOA but officers were able to get a description of both the suspect and the vehicle he fled in.

The vehicle description matched the description of a vehicle that was also seen at two separate shooting incidents on Friday.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and the suspect in the area of Morton Street at Rhoades Street. While attempting to remove the suspect from the vehicle, he did resist however officers were eventually able to take him into custody. During a pat frisk if the suspect, officers recovered a loaded handgun in his jacket.

The suspect has been identified as Shaquan Mason, 25, of Dorchester and he has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm.
