A violent burst of gunfire ripped through the streets of Paterson overnight, leaving two men wounded and another New Jersey city once again dealing with the fallout of late-night violence.
Police say officers rushed to the area of North Main Street and Haledon Avenue around 2:20 a.m. Sunday after reports of a shooting. What they found was chaos.
Two men — a 36-year-old and a 25-year-old, both from Paterson — were suffering from gunshot wounds when officers arrived at the scene.
Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive, according to investigators.
But the bigger question hanging over this case right now is brutally simple: who opened fire and why?
