Rhode Island State Police made multiple arrests over the weekend, including charges involving domestic violence, suspended license violations, a child molestation warrant, and an alleged casino gaming cheating incident.
Domestic Violence Arrest
Troopers arrested Nelson Boj Xivir, 37, of Brockton, Massachusetts, at approximately 10:00 a.m. Saturday on a charge of Domestic Violence – Simple Assault – 1st Offense.
According to Rhode Island State Police, the arrest resulted from Troopers responding to an assault that occurred on Route 95 South in the City of Providence. Authorities said the suspect was later located and transferred to the Cranston Police Department.
Boj Xivir was arraigned at the Cranston Police Department by a Justice of the Peace and released pending a future Sixth Division District Court date.
Suspended License Arrest
At approximately 4:16 p.m. Saturday, Troopers arrested Dominic Costa, 25, of Providence, on charges of Driving with a Suspended License – Special Circumstances and Driving with Suspended License – 4th / Subsequent Offense.
State Police said the arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on John Partington Highway in the City of Providence.
Costa was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace before being transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center. Authorities said he will await presentment as a bail violator in Sixth Division District Court.
Violent Fugitive Task Force Arrest
Members of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Anildo Monteiro, 57, of Providence, at approximately 7:30 a.m. Friday.
According to State Police, Monteiro was arrested on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant issued by the Pawtucket Police Department for First Degree Child Molestation.
Authorities said the arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Violent Fugitive Task Force.
State Police said Monteiro was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Pawtucket Police Department.
Casino Gaming Cheating Charge
At approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday, the Rhode Island State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Chung Wong, 54, of Quincy, Massachusetts, on one count of Casino Gaming Cheating – Wager based upon knowledge not known to all players.
According to investigators, the arrest resulted from a Gaming Enforcement Unit investigation into a table games cheating incident involving Texas Hold ‘Em that allegedly occurred on July 16, 2026, at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort.
State Police said investigators secured an arrest warrant before taking Wong into custody.
Wong was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail following an appearance before a Bail Commissioner.
