An update to the earlier crash in Shrewsbury: Route 20 has now reopened following a serious head-on collision that shut down the roadway between Hartford Turnpike and Boston–Worcester Turnpike.
Emergency crews confirmed that all individuals involved in the crash were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Due to the severity of the incident, CEMLEC was requested to the scene, with officers responding from multiple surrounding communities, including as far as Hopkinton and Westminster.
The vehicles involved have since been towed from the scene, allowing crews to clear the roadway and reopen it to traffic.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
