A MAJOR situation is unfolding right now on Interstate 495 southbound in the area of Littleton, Massachusetts and Chelmsford, Massachusetts, just past the southbound rest area and between that location and Hunt Road.
Authorities report a wrong-way crash involving two vehicles, with one vehicle fully involved following the impact. Early reports indicated a trapped occupant, but both individuals have since been removed from their vehicles.
Fire and EMS crews are actively on scene, and the highway is currently shut down in the southbound direction as emergency crews work to secure the scene.
