DEA, Boston Police Execute Search Warrant, Arrest Jamaica Plain Man

Boston – A coordinated drug investigation in West Roxbury led to the arrest of a 39-year-old man and the seizure of narcotics, cash, and evidence tied to suspected drug distribution activity.
Around 8:52 a.m., officers assigned to the Boston Police Department’s District E-5 Drug Control Unit, working alongside the NORPAC Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), executed a search warrant in the 4800 block of Washington Street.
Authorities identified the suspect as Elmer William Aviles, also known as Adrian Tejada Arias, of Jamaica Plain.
Police had been investigating the suspect prior to obtaining warrants for his person, residence, and two vehicles. While conducting surveillance, officers observed the suspect leaving the residence and took him into custody based on an outstanding default warrant tied to multiple drug and motor vehicle-related charges.
Following the arrest, officers carried out the authorized search of the residence and vehicles.
During the search, investigators recovered:
- Approximately 80 grams of cocaine packaged in multiple plastic bags
- Drug paraphernalia consistent with distribution activity
- Multiple identification documents bearing the name “Adrian Tejada Arias”
- An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency
Aviles is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on a charge of trafficking a Class B substance.
As with all criminal cases, the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
