Boston – Boston Police Officers assigned to District C-6 on Feb. 23 arrested 24-year-old Anders Hubbard, of Braintree, and 23-year-old Elton Ernest, of Somerville.
Officers responded to reports of vandalism in progress on West Second Street at 12:06 a.m. A description from operations was provided of Hubbard and Ernest as the individuals who were tagging a building in the area.
Upon responding to the call, Hubbard and Ernest were observed walking along C Street toward West Street. Given active blizzard conditions and minimal pedestrian activity at that hour, officers stopped the pair for further investigation. Hubbard was observed with paint splatter on his jacket and was holding an item in his jacket pocket that was determined to be a spray paint can.
A search was conducted incident to arrest, and officers recovered an additional spray can from Hubbard. Ernest was found in possession of a blue tote bag containing two cans of paint and three paint markers.
Both men were taken into custody and are expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court on Tagging Property charges. They are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
