SENTENCED-1 Protective Order Violations Result in Lengthy Prison Term

New Britain, CT – On Feb. 11, Jeremy Figueroa-Gerena, 35, of Enfield, was sentenced to 30-years in prison, suspended after 20-years served, followed by 25 years of probation by the Honorable Chris Pelosi of the New Britain Superior Court for charges from a 2024 sexual assault case in Southington.

A jury found Figueroa-Gerena guilty of:

  • Sexual Assault in the First Degree (C.G.S. § 53a-70(a)(1))
  • Four counts of Violation of a Protective Order (C.G.S. § 53a-223)
  • Unlawful Restraint in the First Degree (C.G.S. § 53a-95)
  • Assault in the Third Degree (C.G.S. § 53a-61(a)(1))

on Aug. 25, 2025.

The evidence presented at trial established that the defendant sexually assaulted a woman at a motel in Southington in 2024. Following the assault, he physically attacked and restrained the victim inside his vehicle while traveling on the highway. The defendant was subject to a protective order prohibiting any contact with the victim at the time of the incident.
