Rocky Hill, CT – Darlene Shuff-Porter, also known as Darlene Daily, 66, of Middletown, was sentenced to three years in prison, execution suspended, followed by five years of conditional discharge for defrauding Medicaid by the Honorable Tracy Lee Dayton of the New Haven Superior Court, on Feb. 11.
On Oct. 20, 2025, Shuff-Porter pleaded guilty in New Haven Superior Court to:
- One count of Larceny in the First Degree by Defrauding a Public Community (C.G.S. § 53a-122(a)(3)) and
- One count of Health Insurance Fraud (C.G.S. § 53-442)
both Class B felonies. As part of her sentence, she is prohibited from serving as a medical provider during the five-year conditional discharge period. She paid $55,410.69 in restitution on the day of sentencing.
Shuff-Porter is subject to mandatory exclusion as a health care provider from certain federally funded health programs under federal and state law because she pleaded guilty to two program-related felonies.
