Rhode Island – At approximately 4:45 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 16, Hope Valley State Police Barrack acted on an originating Affidavit and Arrest Warrant leading to the arrest of 45-year-old Francesca Sarantopoulos on multiple charges, including:

  • Obtaining Property by False Pretenses/Personation greater than $10,000
  • Fraudulently Obtaining Public Assistance greater than $500.
  • Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps greater than $500.
  • Giving a False Document to an Agent, Employee, or Public Official.

Sarantapoulas turned herself in to the Hope Valley Barracks. The arrest was a result of an investigation by the barraks.

She was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future arraignment date scheduled at the Third District Court.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
