BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Thirteen people were hospitalized Thursday morning following a collision involving a school bus in Bridgeport, police said.
The crash occurred around 9 a.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Arctic Street.
According to Bridgeport officials, ten of those injured were children. Eight of the children were riding on the school bus, along with two adults. The remaining three injured individuals were traveling in the car that collided with the bus and included one adult and two children, city spokesperson Shawnna White said.
Police said the extent of the injuries sustained by those taken to area hospitals was not immediately known.
Bridgeport police have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
