Waterbury, Vermont — Vermont State Police searched the Kneeland Flats Trailer Park in Waterbury on Monday afternoon after receiving multiple tips that a man wanted on a violent arrest warrant was staying at residences within the park, authorities said.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Berlin Barracks responded to Kneeland Flats Turnpike at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 following reports from community members that Tristan “TJ” Dunster, 40, of Duxbury, was in the area. Police said Dunster has an active arrest warrant for first-degree aggravated domestic assault, burglary, criminal threatening and violation of conditions of release stemming from an incident on Dec. 29, 2025.

According to state police, Dunster was not located during the search, despite a large police presence at the trailer park. An arrest warrant was issued after Dunster could not be located following the Dec. 29 incident, with bail set at $50,000.

In the earlier incident, Dunster is accused of assaulting a former romantic partner. Police said he had active conditions of release at the time that prohibited violent behavior and that he has two prior convictions for domestic assault.

State police described Dunster as approximately 6-foot-1 and about 220 pounds, with partial gray hair. A photograph of Dunster was released by authorities.

Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information about Dunster’s whereabouts to contact the Berlin Barracks at 802-229-9191. Anonymous tips may also be submitted online through the Vermont State Police tip portal.
