Boston — BPD officers from District B-3 hosted the first-ever “Pink Ribbon Bowl,” a flag football tournament to raise awareness for breast cancer and raise funds for the Ellie Fund. The event brought officers together to support the community and one another.

Many of those taking part have been impacted by cancer, giving the day a deeper meaning for everyone involved.

About 100 female officers and one civilian team participated in the tournament, which organizers hope will become an annual tradition.

Commissioner Cox handled the coin toss, while other officers stepped up as coaches and officials. It was a full team effort, and organizers thanked every officer who donated their time.
