Rhode Island State Police were busy over the weekend, hauling in multiple suspects on a range of charges — from DUI to domestic tracking and fugitive warrants stretching into Massachusetts.

On Friday evening, troopers cuffed 53-year-old Brian Pontarelli of Lincoln after investigators say he used an electronic tracking device in a domestic incident. Pontarelli was taken into custody at his Alyssa Lane home, arraigned, and released pending a future court date in Third Division District Court.

Just after midnight Saturday, 64-year-old Roger Vaughan of Smithfield was pulled over on Twin River Road in Lincoln and busted for driving under the influence, refusing a chemical test, and carrying a prohibited weapon. He was processed, arraigned, and released pending court.

Minutes later, troopers stopped another suspected drunk driver — 22-year-old Kyle Costa of Lincoln — on Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence. Costa was hit with DUI and refusal charges, booked, arraigned, and released.

The early morning chaos continued at 2:07 a.m., when troopers stopped a car on Plain Street in Providence and arrested 57-year-old Peter Soares of Seekonk, Massachusetts. Soares was wanted on two fugitive warrants out of Massachusetts — one from Seekonk Police for larceny and another from Wareham Police for burglary. After processing, he was handed over to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

And before sunrise, at 1:46 a.m. in West Greenwich, troopers stopped 56-year-old Alicia Bacon of Coventry on Nooseneck Hill Road. She was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test, both first offenses. Bacon was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a court date in Third Division District Court.
