Two men were killed early Saturday when a fast-moving fire tore through a home in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
The blaze broke out around 4:40 a.m. at 53 Mobile Avenue, after a neighbor called 911 to report the fire. A Chelmsford Fire Department engine already in the area on another call got there within minutes and found heavy smoke and flames ripping through both the front and back of the house.
Firefighters forced their way inside to battle the flames and search for anyone trapped. Two men, both in their 50s, were pulled from the home but pronounced dead at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine their exact cause of death.
Crews knocked down the fire in about 30 minutes, keeping it from spreading to nearby homes.
Investigators from the Chelmsford Fire and Police Departments and state police are probing the cause. Early indications suggest the blaze does not appear suspicious.
