PROVIDENCE, R.I. (August 21, 2025) — Edgar Lopes, 57, of 25 Rye Street, Providence, was arrested Wednesday night by Rhode Island State Troopers for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – Second Offense.
The arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Avenue at Route 6 at approximately 10:58 PM. Lopes registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.248% on Phase I testing and 0.243% on Phase II.
He was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
