Three violent MS-13 members are in Nassau County police custody following a joint operation on August 8 involving ICE New York City, the Nassau County Police Department and the FBI. Two of the gang members reportedly entered the United States illegally during the Biden administration. Each individual has an extensive criminal history, including charges such as attempted murder, gang assault and weapons possession. ICE has lodged immigration detainers against all three and will assume custody once they are released from the New York justice system.
Elias Wilfredo Serrano Bonilla, a 21-year-old from El Salvador, entered the U.S. illegally sometime before December 2016. He was previously arrested on January 8, 2020, by Nassau County police and charged with first-degree assault and first-degree gang assault. On August 8, 2025, Serrano Bonilla was arrested and charged with multiple counts, including eight counts of attempted murder, first-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon, two counts of first-degree robbery while threatening to use a dangerous instrument, first-degree gang assault causing serious injury, and multiple other counts of assault, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. He remains in Nassau County police custody.
Edras Daniel Velasquez Giron, 19, from Honduras, entered the U.S. illegally before June 2022. He was previously ordered removed to Honduras in absentia by an immigration judge in New York on September 28, 2023. On August 8, Velasquez Giron was arrested and charged with six counts of attempted murder, first-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon, first-degree gang assault causing serious injury, second-degree conspiracy to commit a Class A felony, and several additional counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He is currently held by Nassau County police.
Jeffrey Bladimir Valladares Archaga, 20, also from Honduras, illegally entered the U.S. in 2022 near Calexico, California. He was arrested by Nassau County police on July 17 and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and driving without a license. Valladares Archaga remains in Nassau County police custody.
Acting ICE Director Todd M. Lyons said in a statement, “America is no longer a dumping ground for foreign criminals and gang members. ICE will continue to find, arrest and remove MS-13 and other terrorists who come here to wreak havoc on communities and destroy this nation.”
ICE has lodged immigration detainers against all three individuals with the Nassau County Police Department and will take custody when their cases in the New York justice system are resolved.
